Acrylic Mediums Other
We offer a wide range of mediums for use with our acrylic paints. This section includes specialist acrylic mediums that can be used with our Aqueous Dispersions. There are other applications for these products with our acrylic products. Please refer to the section detail for more information.

Base
Base is an extender mixture without binder for use with emulsions, PVA or Acrylic Copolymer, to increase opacity of the film and to control degree of sheen. Can be used with Aqueous Dispersions and PVA/Acrylic mixtures to make an economic artists paint.

Matting Agent
Matting Agent to be used as an alternative to base, for flat finishes when painting thinly, and where maximum colour intensity and clarity is required.

Colloid
Colloid to be used to thicken acrylic emulsions, where some degree of flow is required.
Polymeric Thickener for thickening PVA and acrylic emulsions, where flow is not required. Added by the drop with vigorous stirring or can be diluted with water prior to mixing. Can be added in any proportion.

Water Tension Breaker
Water Tension Breaker increases the flow of Spectracryl colours, producing a smooth surface free of brush marks. Add I part Water Tension Breaker to 20 parts acrylic colour.

Anti-Foam
Anti-Foam added by the drop and stirred gently into acrylic paints to remove air bubbles.
